Summer Camps 2024 Now Enrolling!
June 3rd to June 7th - Performance Camp 1 - Students meet Mon-Fri for 2 hours each day, with a performance during the weekend. Times for the camp will be determined by everyone’s availability but usually anywhere between 11am-8pm
June 10th to June 14th 10am-4pm - Proud Sounds Camp (LGBTQIA+) - Our new Summer Rock Camp for LGBTQIA+ youth and allies! We are honored to offer a safe and supportive space to build community, create, and empower through music and performance. We welcome any and all individuals ages 8-18 who identify as LGBTQIA+ or allies to sign up!
June 17th to June 21st - Drum Week - Students meet Mon-Fri for 90 minutes each day to go over technique, tricks, tips, tuning, hand percussion, and more!
June 24th to June 28th 10am-4pm - Girls Rock Camp - This camp is crafted for girls, young women, and non-binary folks ages 8 - 18! In one week, campers will form bands, write an original song and perform at a local music venue. Campers will work with PopShop's all female staff to explore the fun and challenges of making music with others.
July 8th to July 12th - Tech Week - Audio Engineering Class
Groups will meet Mon-Fri for two hour classes to learn the basics of audio engineering. Students will learn the basics of signal flow, recording hardware/software, microphone types and applications, and then record an actual band's song! Times will be determined with availability
July 8th to July 12th - Tech Week PopShopWV + Bookworm Effects: Build Your Own Pedal
Groups will meet Mon-Thurs (4 days) for 90 minute classes to learn how to read a pedal schematic, overview of parts/components, and learn to build their own pedal! Choice between Overdrive/Boost or Distortion/Fuzz, and new option - a battery powered mini amp! Can be tailored for Guitar or Bass. Times will be determined with availability
July 15th to July 19th - Sketch & Release Camp - Students meet Mon-Fri for 2 hours each day to write, film, and star in a sketch comedy video! PopShop’s Sketch & Release Camp teaches students how to create their own music and comedy TV show. Your child, with their peers, will spend a week writing skits and songs, producing their own hit web show.
Music Video Director Camp - Students meet for 2 hours a day for three days to go over storyboarding, filming, and editing a music video for a band's original song!
